What is Matesahoy?
Mates ahoy is a community website providing an area for you to share your experiences afloat and gain information from others. Add your log, boat and crew details. Or search and find somebody who has sailed to an area you want to know about. Email them and ask them for their views.

How do I register?
It's simple, if you haven't already done so, click on the register here button. This will take you to a form you need to fill in about yourself, and then about your boat and your ports. You can add advanced information about your boat if you wish by clicking advanced registration. Once you have checked your details are correct click submit. We will send you an email confirming your password and registration very shortly after.

What if I change boats?
You can edit your details by logging on using your name and password, then clicking on the icon to edit details.

Can I add myself to multiple boats?
Yes. You can add yourself to as many boats as you like. Just click on "add boat" on your detail form.

Can I add myself to multiple ports?
Yes. You can add yourself and your boat to as many ports as you wish.

I can't find the port I'm looking for.
Although we have tried to include many ports, there are also going to be many we have missed. Please email us with details and we will try to add it as quickley as possible.

How do I add photos?
It's easy. Click on the add photo icon. You can upload jpegs or giffs. They will be resized so they are not large than 200 pixels in any direction. If you do experience problems then email

Make sure that you are logged in with the correct name. If someone elses name is showing, log off and then log on again using your own password.
